Privacy Policy

Kurimoto, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") recognizes that personal information received from stakeholders through its business activities is valuable asset for all stakeholders. Accordingly, the Company has set forth the Privacy Policy and makes efforts to protect the personal information that can identify specific individuals, such as customers and business partners (hereinafter referred to as "Personal Information"), as follows.

1. Collection of Personal Information

- The Company will identify and clarify the purpose of use of Personal Information to be received as much as possible.
- The Company operates in various business fields, mainly in the lifeline business segment, the machinery system business segment and the industrial materials business segment. Personal information will be used within the scope of the purpose of use and business necessity by authorized personnel in accordance with the specific work.

2. Disclosure and Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

- The Company will not disclose or provide Personal Information to any third party without obtaining the consent of the individual, except for following cases:
(1) Disclosure or provision to a subcontractor or to a distributor or an agent who sells the Company's products to the extent of business necessity;
(2) Succession of business in accordance with merger, company split, transfer of business or other reasons; or
(3) Requests based on laws and regulations.

3. Security Management of Personal Information

- The Company will establish and appropriately implement regulations relating to the handling of Personal Information.
- The Company will take strict security measures to prevent unauthorized access to Personal Information, or loss, falsification, leakage, or damage to Personal Information.
- When outsourcing the handling of Personal Information, the Company will take necessary measures such as concluding an appropriate agreement with the subcontractor including the content of security management measures, and thoroughly managing and supervising the subcontractor.

4. Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use and the Like

- The Company will respond to requests for disclosure, correction or suspension of use of Personal Information after identifying the individual.

5. Compliance with Laws and Regulations

- The company will comply with all laws and regulations relating to the handling of Personal Information and other norms, and will continuously review and make efforts to improve the contents of this Privacy Policy.

6. Purpose of Use

- The Company will use received Personal Information for the following purposes.
(1) Personal information on customers, suppliers and other business partners
- For the contact regarding transaction;
- For the provision of the Company's products and/or services;
- For the performance of any agreement entered with the Company;
- For the information on exhibitions, fairs and/or events that the Company sponsors, cosponsors,
 supports or participates in;
- For the request of questionnaire surveys for developing better products and/or services;
- For the response to inquiries, requests for documents and/or other requests; or
- For other purposes for which prior consent has been obtained.

(2) Personal information on shareholders
- For the exercise of rights and fulfillment of obligations under the Companies Act;
- For sending and communicating annual reports and other deliverables;
- For shareholder management such as preparation of shareholders data in accordance with predetermined standards based on various laws and regulations; or
- For the performance of operations concerning the preparation and submission of payment records.

(3) Personal information on job applicants
- For recruitment activity and management of prospective employees.

(4) Personal information on retirees and the like
- For the payment of retirement pensions and the like;
- For necessary communications in social activities such as guiding OB associations; or
- For the provision of information on the status of the Company.

Use for purposes other than the above

If personal information will be used for any other purpose than those above-mentioned, the Company shall obtain the consent of the individual, except for cases permitted by laws and regulations.

Procedures for Responding to Disclosure of Personal Information

Kurimoto Group will respond to requests from the individual of retained personal data or its agent for disclosure, change, suspension of use, deletion or suspension of provision to a third party of such retained personal data as follows.

1. Request for Disclosure and The Like
Requests for disclosure and the like shall be made by sending the prescribed application from by mail enclosing the necessary documents for identification.

In the event the person who makes the request for disclosure and the like is the legal representative or an agent authorized by the individual, please enclose the following documents in addition to the documents mentioned in the preceding paragraph.

2. Purpose of Use of Personal Information Acquired in Relation to A Request for Disclosure and The Like
Personal information obtained upon request for disclosure and the like shall be handled only to the extent necessary for requests for such disclosure and the like.

3. Reasons for Non-Disclosure of Retained Personal Data
In the event of the following cases, disclosure shall not be made, and when the Company decides not to disclose, the Company will notify the individual of such decision with the reason therefore.
- The address stated in the application form differs from the address stated in the identification document of the individual or identification document for proxy qualification, and it is impossible to identify the individual.
- In the event of a defect in the prescribed application form.
- The subject of disclosure does not correspond to retained personal data
- Cases where there might impair the individual's or any third party's life, body, property, or other rights or interests
- There is a risk that the proper performance of the Company's business will be seriously hindered.
- Other cases stipulated by laws and  regulations or in violation of laws and regulations.
