The Kurimoto Group signs the UN Global Compact and joins the Global Compact Network Japan

Kurimoto, Ltd. (Head Office: Nishi-ku, Osaka, Japan; President and Representative Director: Kazutaka Kikumoto; hereinafter "Kurimoto") is pleased to announce that we and our group companies (the "Kurimoto Group") have signed the United Nations Global Compact ("UNGC"), the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative that brings the United Nations and private-sector companies and organizations together to build a healthy global community. We are proud to be listed as a participant in the UNGC on March 31, 2024. Additionally, the Kurimoto Group has also joined the Global Compact Network Japan ("GCNJ") which consists of Japanese member companies and organizations that are signatories of the UNGC.
The UNGC was officially launched at the United Nations Headquarters in New York in 2000, and as of January 2024, it has more than 15,000 companies and more than 4,000 organizations in over 160 countries as its signatories, and includes more than 60 local networks. It is a voluntary initiative for companies and organizations to act as good corporate citizens and achieve sustainable growth through the creative exercise of responsible leadership.
Signatories of the UNGC are required to help achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) in accordance with ten principles in four areas: human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption as stated by the UNGC.
Launched in December 2003, the GCNJ is a local network that supports its Japanese member companies and organizations in their voluntary strategic initiatives. It also organizes seminars for its members and subcommittee activities led by the members.
At the Kurimoto Group, we established the Human Rights Policy and the Sustainability Policy in April 2023, and with our recent participation in the UNGC, we are committed to pursuing sustainability management and helping to create a sustainable society.
